Reviewing and proofreading your book

Rigorous proofreading is the only way great books are made.
You probably think you are done. The reality is: you should proofread book's cover and every page at least 15-25 more times. Get other smart, trustworthy people to proofread it for you as well.

Book Components Illustration by Brett Engle"Proofing" is generally considered to be the action of reviewing everything: spacing, flow, size, placement, wording, tone, message, coloring, alignment, order, accuracy, and quality of each and every image, word, sentence, and page. Spell check. Then check again with your eyes for grammatical mistakes and visual errors. Make sure no images or text are missing or misplaced.

If you or another person identify an error in your book, whether it is major or minor, now is the time to decide how to fix it. I don't advise this as a means to torture you. Taking the time now to proof your work and really refine it will make it great.

Don't even think about finalizing your files until they are absolutely, positively how you want them to look.

This is the last chance to make any changes, minor or major, so be sure your book is ready for the world.
