Bookshelf

I love books that inspire. Here's a small collection of books and other writing that has changed me and helped open my mind:

The World According to Mister Rogers: Important Things to Remember, Fred Rogers
What a kind and beautiful person he was. Fred Rogers is & was my personal hero.

If You Want to Write: A Book about Art, Independence and Spirit, Brenda Ueland
This book changed my molecules and was crutial in helping me figure out the reason why I create. Fun fact: it is written by the aunt of my dear friend Alex Boies.

22 and 50 Poems, e.e. cummings
A collection of poems "too scandalous" to print after their original creation. Now an unintended collection of poetic diamonds.

Art & Fear: Observations On the Perils (and Rewards) of Artmaking, David Bayles & Ted Orland
Another jumpstart book for creatives. Contributes interesting commentary on a variety of issues every artist should think about.

Me Talk Pretty One Day, David Sedaris
I threw this book across the room it made me laugh so hysterically! I couldn't believe it - so funny.

Remote Control: Power, Cultures, and the World of Appearances, Barbara Krueger
Thoughtful and intelligent commentary from an artist who took time to digest. This book is one of my absolute favorites.
